Behind the Blend

Tie-Dye & Chai was shaped by memories of Jaipur at its most colorful — vibrant markets overflowing with textiles, pattern, and movement, and a quieter afternoon spent sharing chai and conversation in the garden courtyard of a royal historian’s home.

I still remember him sitting there with an almost regal presence, wearing a beautiful pastel pink and blue tie-dye turban and an imperial mustache, sipping his chai with remarkable delicacy as we talked. Spun sugar brings a playful sweetness to the blend, recalling Jaipur’s vivid colors and confection-like pastels, while masala chai adds warmth and spice, rooted in that afternoon of conversation. Nag champa settles beneath it all with a soft, meditative depth, echoing the faint trace of incense drifting through the courtyard from somewhere beyond the garden.

Together, the notes were balanced to capture the Jaipur I remember — colorful and expressive, yet gracious and deeply atmospheric, with sweetness, spice, and incense lingering in the air.
