Absinthe & Embers Scented Candle | Old Town Prague

When I was first developing the fragrance blend for Absinthe & Embers, I gave a little sample to my friend for feedback. “WOW! That turns me on!” She giggled, “…it smells like a man!”

Exactly what I was going for: sexy and masculine.

I drew inspiration for Absinthe & Embers from a trip I took to Old Town Prague. Its Bohemian charm, with its castle, soaring Gothic cathedrals and dramatic Baroque palaces, set along the breathtaking views of the Vltava River and Charles Bridge, and winding cobblestone streets dotted with cafes and absinthe bars, creates something of a fairytale. It’s no wonder why this enchanting city is known for being one of the world’s most romantic cities.

A friend of mine invited me on this trip nearly 10 years ago … we’ve been together as a couple ever since. He claims he wasn’t interested in me in that way back then, but I continue to tease him. I think he knew what he was doing! (The short story included with the candle is loosely based on the beginning of me and my now partner’s relationship.)

We went in early November. It was cold and damp. Maybe not the most ideal weather for a vacation, but I’m that weirdo who loves a cool, dreary day. Plus, I think the atmosphere of Old Town Prague really lends itself to a cozy fog. One thing that stood out to me were the numerous options for outdoor dining. I really enjoyed the opportunity to drink and dine in the crisp air while people watching. Most spots provided outdoor heaters or fire pits, and warm blankets draped over chairs.

The fragrance blend for Absinthe & Embers in Old Town Prague captures the memory I have of its lively absinthe scene and smoldering fire pits in the old town square. Captivating and sensual, this fragrance blend will fill your space with depth and sophistication. Its main notes include absinthe, luscious black currant and embers. It begins with a whisper of eucalyptus and sweet anise. More deeply hidden, you’ll uncover hints of clove, fennel, spearmint, saffron and basil, followed by leather and sandalwood, dark musk, amber, incense and myrrh.

It’s a rich fragrance you’ll want to burn extra slow.
